The Oxford English Dictionary has some updates with additions of web expressions like OMG, LOL, IMHO, TMI, BFF, FYI, WAG, muffin top and the symbol of a heart to denote love. This is the first time in the history of the Oxford English Dictionary that a symbol has been added. Throughout its 127 years, it has resisted the inclusion of symbols to associate with meanings. However, the common and widespread use of the heart symbol has made the lexicographers stand up and take note of it.
OMG – Oh My God
LOL – Laugh Out Loud
IMHO – In My Humble Opinion
TMI – Too Much Information
BFF – Best Friends Forever
FYI – For Your Information
WAG – Wives And Girlfriends
Muffin top – When someone wears a pair of tight trousers and the fat tummy looks like a muffin top.
